Capote Dona Lourdes at the table

Gossip, church-group steel, and no mercy once the cards are dealt.

Dona Lourdes — Capote Character Guide

Dona Lourdes is the Capote regular the press actually named when they counted Early Access additions. Luski started Steam Early Access on October 23, 2025 with a small neighborhood cast. Across the following months the studio added two characters. Coverage of the 1.0 launch describes Lourdes as a neighborhood woman who likes gossip, shows up for church activities, and shows no pity during matches. This page is her wiki entry. It does not invent a secret kit, a hidden stat, or a second surname Luski never published.

If you want the full seating chart, open the Characters Hub and the roster. If you want the boss at the back of the room, that is still Bete in Betejack.

Why she matters

Capote characters are not fighting-game specialists with unique HP bars. Steam still sells the fantasy of neighbors you have already met. Lourdes is the aunt who already knows who is dating whom, who is late on the bingo card, and who is about to overbid. That personality is the mechanical joke: she looks like community, then she ends your night.

Play her when you want that energy in voice lines and in the way the table looks. Play someone else when you want a different mouth on the lip-sync voice chat. Affinity still unlocks lines and a cosmetic, not a new special card. Classic card math lives in Getting Started and the Special Cards Catalog.

What we know versus what we do not

Known from launch coverage and studio history:

  • She arrived during Early Access, not on day-one October 2025.
  • She is one of two characters added in that period. The other face is not consistently named in English press. This wiki will not guess the second name.
  • She is a neighborhood figure: gossip, church-group life, ruthless play.
  • She sits in the same modes as everyone else: Classic, Betejack duels, and Truco after August 20, 2026.

Not published as of 1.0 week:

  • Unique Truco emote animations (possible, not confirmed)
  • A dedicated achievement only she can earn
  • A Betejack-only power that other characters lack

If a patch note names one, it will be added here and on Version History.

How to play as Lourdes

There is no hidden bidding modifier. Your job is table presence:

  • In Classic, bid like the Betting Strategy page teaches. Lourdes will not save a bad call.
  • In Truco, she is a face on a team. Signals still come from emotes. Read How to play Truco.
  • In Betejack, she can appear as a duel opponent like the rest of the bar. Draft items for the boss, not for her biography.

Cosmetic hunting: if the beach skin pack challenge succeeds (1,000 Steam reviews by September 3, 2026), every character including Lourdes is in the promised free bundle. Details on Version 1.0 notes. That still is not a promo code.

How to play against the idea of Lourdes

You cannot dodge a specific AI named Lourdes in Classic the way you dodge a named raid boss. Bots rotate the cast. In Betejack you can re-roll duels if you are hunting a particular deck. Treat her the way the fiction treats her: she has already heard your tell. Do not broadcast a high bid in voice if you are sitting next to someone whose whole joke is gossip.

Cast context after 1.0

Steam store copy around 1.0 still talks about a compact bar cast. Early Access added people; the beach bar added a new room; Truco added a new sport. Lourdes is the named example of “the roster grew because the community asked.” Pair her page with Bete so new players do not confuse a regular with the final boss.
